Description

Our conversation with Dr. Taylor and attorney Julie Gunnigle continues in Part 2 of Arizona SOS. With new Arizona state laws recognizing fetal personhood, a fetus is seen as having the same rights as any adult resident of the state, including the person who is pregnant with that fetus. A lawyer can be retained to represent the fetus and a pregnant person can be sued by a myriad of people if the pregnant person miscarries or seeks an abortion. Providers can also be prosecuted. This is not Margaret Atwood's novel, this is Arizona. If the U.S. Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, what will happen to people who need help in a miscarriage situation or need to end a pregnancy? Who will provide care? #handsoffaz #access
