Description

Listen in and learn about the coordinated nationwide Red Cloak protests scheduled for October 25, 2020, when the imagery of Margaret Atwood's Handmaids will represent (1) resistance to the confirmation of any Supreme Court Justice until after the 2021 inauguration, and (2) the shared demand to protect womxn's bodily autonomy and constitutional right to access reproductive healthcare, including abortion. Leah Kostencki, a volunteer for the #RuthSentUs event, provides context for the origin of the event. A group of seven women, including Brittany Oaks, held a Red Cloak protest in Little Rock, Arkansas. One participant, AshleyUncorked, shared a tiktok post which went viral and helped people from many states find each other to connect and channel anger into action. If you are in Massachusetts? Join at the MA State House on Beacon Hill Sunday 10/25/20 at 10:00 a.m. Wear red, white & black - and a MASK! Stay socially distant from other participants. Peaceful protest only.
