Here is my cover of God Rest Ye Merry Gentelmen, the arrangement is by Eric Roche from his book 'the acoustic guitar bible' sadly he passed away in 2005 and he is one of my guitar hero's.
this is the audio from a live performance I did for a youtube video, it took 16 takes and 2 and a half hours to record a piece of music less than 2 minutes long. I feel like the effort was worth it in the end!
It was captured with a matched pair of line audio CM3 mics in XY position, several feet away from the guitar through the recording chain was as follows: 2 x rupert neve designs 511 mic pres > elysia xpressor 500 > elysia xfilter 500.
This is my final recording for 2025, I hope you enjoy it and had a good Christmas and have a happy new year!
