Strange process today. I started with riffs that might be the kinds of things I'd do with a live circle, and tightly interlocking to boot. Kind of old school for me.
It just wasn't happening.
Then I added something that might be like a "melody," a longer-line loop. Harmonized it. Stuck yet another thing on top. And whoah, it was nice!
...and totally not in the same chord progression as the rest of the stuff.
So I dumped the rest of the tonal stuff, kept the drums, and added back in parts that went with the new progression. Some of it was cheesy. I let it in anyways.
The result sounds a bit different than I'm used to, but, um, I might dig this one. Be sure to hang around for the payoff. The second half of this song is where it's at.
