Long one today. I was too attached to the idea of making what I said make sense, have a narrative for you to follow. So, long pauses, and too much story. For me.

But a great stretch for me, to have story elements to weave together. For those of you who like spoilers, I chose "Creepy Child," "Red Shirts," "Recycled in Space" (which wound up modifying the Creepy Child heavily), and "The Captain." Some other related tropes modified some of the elements further; see if you can suss out which ones.

Interesting to tell the story from the perspective of a Red Shirt that lived, albeit a Red Shirt who doesn't know the whole story. Saved me from having to improvise some of the details.

But it's my first Creepy Child lullaby, and a rare 12/8 time signature for me, and in my mind the different parts sound like the beeping and ticking of the space ship, the thumping of the heart, the emptiness of space, and the laments of the crew. Strange juxtapositions! Fun to weave together.
