Description

"This week your prompt is to invent a religion you wouldn't mind joining. Whatever level of dogma, faith, detail, humor, spirit, realism you'd prefer. Now write some liturgy for it."

No 'invention' needed to fulfill this A Cappella Jukebox suggestion. http://www.uua.org/ Now, it's not my thing to proselytize a religion, or a spiritual viewpoint. (Which, as it happens, is also true of UU -- and one of the reasons I feel at home here.) But they asked, and so I take the challenge.

My religion would acknowledge and celebrate the nobility and absurdity of the human condition, as well as celebrating (*not* just 'tolerating') differences in belief about the ultimate nature of the universe. There would be no "sins," but there would be regular encouragement to live up to your best self, and also to treat others with kindness and compassion.

Not sure that this song does that, because that's a tall order. But I made this. Enjoy.
