Goofy process today. Made it to my singin' place after a late lunch, wrestled with the tech, got it going, and tried my best to do a sloooow song as quickly and efficiently as I could. I made loops, looked at the time, and it was time to wrap it up before I sang the performance.
And it suuuuuuuuuuuuucked.
What to do? To pull the tracks into a DAW and correct pitches and timing, even in a loose sort of way, would have been a major violation. To start over from scratch would have been a kind of cheat. But there was a middle way: keep VP and bass, re-record the "mmmmms" as "oooohs" (and change one of the three voices -- I know, that's a mild cheat), and build the rest from there.
Turns out it didn't need much more than that. Just the courage to commit to the new thing that it wanted to become -- this, posted here.
