The story goes that Mike enthusiastically approached amc after he heard him playing Nautic and "Freedom Of The Floor" at a summer party, asking him if he had anything else that sounded like that. Mike was in luck because amc has a stack of records in that style because he’s a fan of down to mid-tempo female vocalists with catchy melodies.
So it came to be that this one-off mix was created taking in artists from Norway, France, Canada, Japan, Austria, The Netherlands, the UK and US. Starting with the fabulous Aldous Harding it drifts from the present to the (future) past, rising to the incredible cover of Pet Shop Boys "Love Comes Quickly" by Hidemi Ishikawa before the cosy ending from Diane Tell and Vanity.
As Adam Kesher said in Mullholland Drive “this is the girl”.
