Will Stephens visits with Bart Hagston, administrator at the Jackson County Health Department about the Corona Virus.
"The risk at this time is low. I have no doubt that it's not if, but when, there will be cases of Corona Virus Disease in our area, but you can still say the risk is low to any one person and still have a case here or there."
"We've seen a lot of what might be referred to as panic buying of various supplies, that is not helpful. Hand sanitizer is very hard to come across right now on store shelves, there is no substitute for washing your hands with good old soap and water...we encourage them to do that throughout the day."
"I think some level of concern and action is appropriate...for me...I am promoting preparedness at this point...for now I think its ok for people to...have meetings, attend functions, things like that, as long as, again, you're encouraging people if they are ill to stay home, you're washing your hands, you're disinfecting surfaces, those are going to go a long way to help continue those daily activities that all of us do, so that is where we're at right now."
