Today’s guest is Henry Young, a former executive director of the Joffrey Ballet from 1978-1981. During his tenure, he secured an emergency grant from the National Endowment for the Arts that allowed the company to avoid insolvency, he arranged for a gala at the Metropolitan Opera House with Lena Horne which resulted in clearing the Joffrey deficit in 1979 and he routinely advised Robert Joffrey on how to cut the company''s expenses while increasing its revenue stream. Today, he is the head of Young Associates, a consultancy providing fundraising and management counsel to arts organizations.
