We followed Craig Sheffer to Midian in 1990's Nightbreed (The Director's Cut) by horror/fantasy master Clive Barker. Though the consensus is that the theatrical version is "better", there truly is no winning if you're not a 13 year old gay in 1990. Special appearance by Corey J Brewer who endured the 3.5 hour "Cabal Cut" and is somehow still speaking to us.
