READINGS: Psalm 131; Luke 1:39-45
SYNOPSIS:
Adam preaches on the source of true inner peace coming only from the Lord God. He draws on Psalm 131 to expand how we should stop putting our hope in possibilities such as a bigger car, a better job etc. and start putting our trust in the certainties of Jesus Christ and the Lord Almighty becoming Infants in Christ. By doing so we will find a peace that passes all understanding.
He quotes from John Calvin:
"Nearly all the wisdom which we possess, that is to say, true and sound wisdom, consists of two parts: the knowledge of God and of ourselves.But, while joined by many bonds, which one precedes and brings forth the other is not easy to discern."
