Description

With this track, created on my iPad, I thought I'd explain how I created it.

I started this track with the classic GB hard rock guitar played manually (having picked out a riff I liked) with high reverb and echo, and shaped the track by muting the guitar play early on and then playing more freely as the track progresses.

Then I used a drummer track (set on 'follow'), building up the volume and velocity on the tom toms throughout (and I switch track pan back and forth towards the end). I then cut a couple of the drummer sections to create breaks.

I chose the GB picked bass and played with and against the main rhythm.

Then I added a ThumbJam rock guitar played through a 'Middle Atmosphere' guitar amp from AmpKit. Again I switched track pan for effect, and to enhance breaks, allowing other instruments to then come to the fore occasionally.

Finally I released my inner drummer and played a manual SoCal drum kit track to compliment everything. This was great fun!

It felt very emotional and somehow romantic, or maybe I'm just a big softy, hence the title and image. I remember, when I first met my wife, we both felt things got serious pretty quickly. We agreed to take a break, keep it under control. Yeah, right, that lasted all of one day...
