Description

I've mixed in some vox referring to modern day Mexico in this somewhat dark soundtrack whilst I was thinking about Tenochtitlan the capital of the Aztec empire now known as Mexico City. Looking into the shadow of the past from the light of the modern day.

It's not meant to deep and significant, but certainly dark and reflective. Still, so many dark years, and all that wasted human sacrifice to the Sun god Huitzilopochtli so that the Sun would rise each day...

The image is a representation the defunct Aztec calendar - from Wikipedia.

"In ancient times the year was composed of eighteen months, and thus it was observed by the native people. Since their months were made of no more than twenty days, these were all the days contained in a month, because they were not guided by the moon but by the days; therefore, the year had eighteen months. The days of the year were counted twenty by twenty."

ps. maybe I should change the title to The Aztec Years...makes more sense from an historical perspective. I'll think about it.
