Although a veteran of the Manchester scene, with 10 years DJing under his belt and his Boxed Manchester brand an established local favourite, Ben Ikin is a relative newcomer to production. He has nevertheless set out an impressive stall with his first few releases, with subtle vocal manipulations, chugging grooves and rolling tech basslines very much the order of the day. That trend continues with Expectations – his latest release for the increasingly vital FXtion Records.
