Combining various artistic disciplines including sculpture, performance, painting, story-telling, David Bernstein circles around – or starts from – objects, their use and meanings to unfold an intriguing network of new narratives. Questions arise like: What does it mean to activate an object and where does it lead to? How does connecting two things change the way we think about both of them? Proceeding from there, we talk with him about the physical and the spiritual, about deconstructing meaning and the risks of doing so, about understanding and overstanding, word play, truth, and hidden buddhas.
