Working with magazines, collages and a variety of other materials, from paper to pencil, all of these have their own meaning in the work of Olaf Winkler. Through the memory and his past growing up in the Ruhr area, Germany, an industrial landscape, we investigate how much this influenced his practice. From the pipelines that could once be seen in this landscape, we move to the drawing of the line, his background in architecture, the possible overlapping of these two disciplines, and how the body might relate to that.
