Benmont Tench is one of my favourite keyboard players. He's understated and laid back, but every note and lick serves the song perfectly.
His solo album, You Should Be So Lucky, is one gem after another, but the track that really spoke to me is 'Wobbles', a simple but lovely Professor Longhair-style rolling piano groove. So I had a bash at it, roping in my some-time band-mate Adrian Emanuel for some sweet slide guitar. If nothing else, it's reminded me just how hard it is to keep a continuous quiet left-hand rhythm going under a dynamic right-hand part. 18 year old me would laugh at current me's technique.
