Antias:
Antias is a project by Alexey Danilkin from Russia. The pseudonym of the musician from Ryazan, Antias refers to the astrological term antis - a mirror point. So the artist's melodies become a reflection of the reflections of the surrounding reality: the coldness of the glass metropolis and the greatness of Russia's nature.
Deconstructing various genres into components, Alexey collects his own unique sound. Synthesizers of all eras and concepts, and field recordings with an emphasis on organics, and processed samples, and spoken word are used. The form is a mix of breakbeat, jungle, techno, dub and ambient. In terms of content - a walk through a pine forest on a cool autumn evening imbued with Russian melancholy.
The live component of the Antias project lives its own parallel life. Each of his sets is assembled from scratch for a specific event, and returns to zero after lowering the faders on the controller. No repetition. No record. Resetting each of his live sets, Alexey leaves space for the main refrain of his work: to be in the moment.
In addition to releases on important genre labels, Antias hosts his own series of podcasts on hello ▼ strange, and also managed to check in with a live on the Resonanсe Moscow program. The artist's sets have already died down in Mutabor, K-30, Propaganda, at the Sun Spirit, Skazka, Line Check and Abstraction festivals.
