FunkyBe:
FunkyBe grew up in Germany where he discovered electronic music through different kinds of media. On the one hand he was always in the starting blocks when it was about getting the next Club Sounds volume on CD. On the other hand FunkyBe watched a lot the Viva music channel on TV in the 2000’s. Viva always had shown the Love Parade and this was something he also wanted to do: party and mix !
FunkyBe started mixing in 2005 with two turntables and since then he enjoys playing vinyls. Next to that he made the choice to also mix mp3 but in the form of Serato in order to keep the vinyl feeling. He posts mixes on a regular basis, they are called "Les sessions funky" and are sometimes more housy, sometimes more techno minded.
The artists that have been an inspirational source for him: Oscar Mulero, Ben Sims, Joris Voorn, Terry Lee Brown Jr., 2000 & One, Andhim, Dj Sneak, Carl Cox, Hertz, Anthony Rother, Vitalic, Shinedoe, Function, Octave One, Kevin Saunderson, Robert Miles, Dj Test, Hemka, Jeroen Search, Four, Jkriv, Oliver Stories, Junction, Juan Atkins, Dr. Lektroluv, Moodyman, Steak, Twig, the list in fact never ends!
He recently launched the electronic music culture webzine Sessions Sonores, and the channel also posts mixes of various artists on a regular basis.
