Over the past couple of years, I realized that it’s more pleasant for me to just love music, and not to be a musician or DJ: collecting vinyl, looking for ambient and dub techno to listen to on endless trips, recording demos on my Digitakt in the forests of Siberia, the mountains of the Caucasus and along the rivers of the central Russia. Most often I make mixes on trains or planes, and the tracks are born from live recordings that I prepare for my rare performances. Life is in full swing, but at the same time I am a lonely person and this makes me feel comfortable, this is the main refrain in my work. Its form is expressed in broken rhythm, sub-bass and ambient canvases.
In addition to dub techno, I write leftfield and breakbeat in the spirit of the Ilian Tape label and the cult Leftfield. By the way, my live in this genre was released on Nikita Zabelin’s program - Resonance Moscow on May 11, and I’m preparing an album for them.
As for today’s mix, the photo shows my dear and beloved Ryazan, and today’s journey through its night streets in the company of classics of the genre, the unexpected Burial with two remixes, the beloved Danes Lulu Rouge and Fussganger, and the amazing Óþekkt from Glasgow.
