Biography:
The sound of Xyiz is originally influenced by the dry, brute and urban sound of the early days of dub techno in germany. Robert aka Xyiz grew up in a small town in the middle of Germany. After initially playing guitar in a young punk rock band, he started discovering electronic music production at 16 and quickly began to develop a passion for experimental sound design and groovy rhythms. At the age of 17 he also started djing on vinyl, at that time still in the genre of DrumʼnʼBass. In 2016 he finally found a genre which is very open to atmospheric and interesting but still danceable rhythms and sound design, that’s when he started producing dub techno and related styles. He startet releasing EPs on the Label Kräuterbutter Kollektiv from Dresden (DE) followed by single Tracks on Pragmat Records and Slope Point where he lately released his first EP for the Label. After a long break from playing vinyl, he lately started collecting in the rhythmic and raw styles of Dub- and Deep Techno.
