Archaic Print estrenó el pasado año su catálogo con una primera entrega en la cual el sello ya desveló parte de sus intereses artísticos con una apuesta por las diversas interpretaciones que pueda tener un género tan holgado como es el techno, y siempre, dentro de un contexto en el que premia ante todo la coherencia y la originalidad.
Esta libertad para ejecutar y desarrollar diferentes escenarios, y que a la vez puedan convivir y armonizar, se une a la prioridad que la plataforma otorga al formato físico, al disco vinilo.
Mike Humphries toma el relevo a Stanislav Tolkachev, a The Transhumans y a Dan Böhler, artífices de la primera referencia de Archaic Print. No obstante, a diferencia de este primer lanzamiento, Humphries es el único autor de las cuatro pistas de este EP y por lo tanto, a él le debemos la pluralidad musical de esta segunda entrega.
Con In Between Reality, Mike Humphries da una gran ejemplo de bagaje y de la gran labor creativa que le ha acompañado durante estas 3 décadas.
Este disco exhibe una retrospección sonora que puede situar al
oyente en distintas ubicaciones y épocas. El espacio-tiempo se sitúa en cuatro puntos distintos.
9 Lives es el primer corte del EP y solo en los primero compases podemos anticipar un sonido memorable que evoca a la clandestinidad de las primeras raves europeas. Silver Shadows es una pista con patrones y propiedades que recuerdan mucho a la primeriza etapa de Mike Humphries como D-Kontrol, alias con el que operó durante los primeros añosde los 90 y que solía tener siempre un trasfondo ácido. Con Freefall intensifica el temperamento del acid, aunque su naturaleza nos ubica en un período más adelantado, más moderno, en el que este tipo de sonido tomaba otros matices diferentes. In Between Reality ya nos transporta a otra secuencia del espacio-tiempo más avanzada, con un estilo que fluctúa entre el techno, el minimalismo y la profundidad armónica. "

Archaic Print released its catalog last year with a first installment in which the label already revealed part of its artistic interests with a commitment to the various interpretations that a genre as loose as techno can have, and always, within a context in which it rewards coherence and originality above all else.

Mike Humphries takes over from Stanislav Tolkachev, The Transhumans and Dan Böhler, creators of the first Archaic Print reference.

9 Lives is the first track on the EP and only in the first bars can we anticipate a memorable sound that evokes the secrecy of early European raves. Silver Shadows is a track with patterns and properties that are very reminiscent of Mike Humphries 'early days as D-Kontrol, an alias he traded with during the early' 90s and which used to always have an acid undertone. With Freefall he intensifies the temperament of acid, although its nature places us in a more advanced, more modern period, in which this type of sound took on other different nuances.
