"The Jam" by Spanish Funk outfit Mothergroove is mid-tempo groove machine, dancable and with a jazzy tang.
Initiated by Italian singer, songwriter and producer Gianni Sciannamé in Barcelona, Mothergroove is losely based around him and local musicians Abel Boquera (keyboard), Roger Serrahima (drums) and Brasillian bass player Daniel Doctors. For "The Jam" flute player Caspar St Charles joined the family. Mothergroove's sound is heavily influenced by the likes of James Brown, Deodato, Banda Black Rio and Roy Ayers.
"The Jam" is the b-side of the 9th 7" vinyl single on Our Label Records, limited to only 500 copies worldwide.
