As Donald Trump prepares to take office in a few weeks, there’s been much discussion of his top priorities during the first 100 days of his presidency.
Some have argued that repeal and replacement of Obamacare should be front and center; others have stressed repeal of Obama-era regulations that have slowed the economy and restricted the domestic exploration of energy; and still others have said that Trump should turn first to securing our borders.
But make no mistake: Trump’s biggest bang for the buck will come with the nomination of constitutional conservatives to the United States Supreme Court and other federal courts around the country. Trump can remake the face of the federal judiciary by appointing judges who believe their primary responsibility is to say what the law is, not what they’d like it to be.
By appointing judges who believe in upholding liberty, limited government, and the rule of law, Trump will go a long way toward fulfilling the promises he made to the American people during the recent campaign – and putting himself on the pathway toward a successful presidency.
