Eric Omondi, The Kenyan comedian currently presented the Play 75% Local Content bill to the lawmakers, and it was nicely framed.
Speaking outside parliament during the presentation, Eric said this would strengthen the brand and investment, hence stopping the Kenyan media's obsession with foreign music and art, which has caused discontent and frustration for Kenyan artistes.
He said the bill "will enhance local music support for culture preservation and provide local support mechanism that will bring encouragement to our artistes and also avoid millions of shillings inform of royalties leaving the country to be paid to local artistes,"
The Parliament we received a petition from @ericomondi advocating for 75% of airplay in clubs, local TV/radio stations be accorded to local artists. As Kenyans, we must embrace and support our own local artists before dancing shoki.
