We set things off by hearing how El, J57 and Ras Kass came to form the group, DJ Premier’s influence and role in the project and how El’s relationship with Ras over the past 5-6 years laid the groundwork for it. We get personal with Gant as well, from his early musical influences growing up to his love for heavy metal / thrash music. On top of all of that, we get the lowdown on Avenida Cantina, Gant’s Tex-Mex restaurant in Manhattan, what it’s like being a restauranteur and how years of experience in the hospitality industry prepared him for the venture.
