BANG! @southernvangard #radio presents the #JSANDS interview session. Sands is a long time friend, going all the way back to 2003 with “Strong Black Rebel Rap”, a cut found on Jon Doe’s producer project “Meet Jon Doe.” Given Sands is a sports aficionado, we kick it off with Sands take on the Steeler’s this year, and also get into his “Sands on Sports” show from a few years back. The day we recorded the interview was when Ghostface went HAM on Action Bronson, so Meeks and Sands had a lively convo about this topic, and eventually we get into the longtime indy grind Sands has been on for what is almost 2 decades. We chat about his latest project with Moka Only, #Dankovic”, how it got Sands involved in some related and very interesting business adventures and what is coming down the pike from Sands - including a new Lone Catalyst project. As always we reminisce on Sands’ time spent in Cincinnati in the mid-late 90s, and coming up in the burgeoning scene at the time - think MOOD, Hi-tek, Talib Kweli, Rhymesayers, Anticon, Mr. Dibbs - the list goes on and on. We also have a nice chat about the impact of Wiz Khalifa on his hometown of Pittsburgh and how Wiz has navigated his fame This one is chock-full of goodness ya’ll! Pick up “Dankovich” now and the new Lone Catalysts 12” dropping on Dope Folks soon! // southernvangard.com // #hiphop #rap #DJ #mix #interviews #podcast #ATL #PITTSBURGH #CINCINNATI #DMV #WORLDWIDE
