I moved to Tennessee when I was 19 years old. This song was the first song I wrote in Tennessee, really grappling with whether or not to return to CA, or move to TN. My parents paid for my trip to TN to visit them for my birthday. In my room, I remember staring out the window, gazing at the backyard... and this song came about.
