Lauren Wallace walked onto her college track team as a sprinter, but after her freshman year and a heart to heart with her coach, she decided to transition into a middle distance runner and settled in as an 800m runner.
And the results speak for themselves.
After finishing her college career as an All-American she qualified as a semi-finalist at the US Championships, and now she's setting her sights even higher: getting into a Team USA singlet. Here are some of the highlights from our conversation:
Her secret desire to race in a 200m, just don't tell her coach
The experience of running at the US Championships
Running in Belgium, once she was able to get the wrinkles ironed out
The process of adjusting from college to professional runner
What her life is like outside of running
