Description

The 2018-19 season has come to a close ... well it did ten days ago. We finally got our Hoopsville Season Finale produced (sorry about the delay).

Congratulations to the UW-Oshkosh men's and Thomas More women's basketball teams on their DIII National Championships. For the Titans, it is the first in program history and the fourth program (and 13th time) for the WIAC. For the Saints, it is their second in four years, but they are also departing DIII as national champions.

On the Season Finale, we recap the two Championship Weekends, with help from our friends. We bring back some of the thoughts of Dave McHugh, Pat Coleman and Bob Quillman following the men's title game. Gordon Mann then joins the program to recap the events in Roanoke.

Plus, we hear from the championship winning head coaches. Matt Lewis of UW-Oshkosh and Jeff Hans of Thomas More join the program. Lewis discusses the crazy journey of the Titans to their first title and how he may argue the "interim" part of his title should be removed. And Hans not only discusses another title for the Saints, but the bittersweet fact they are leaving the NCAA and Division III.

But that isn't all we discuss on a jam-packed final episode of the 2018-19 season. We wrap up the season in a similiar way to how we started it. One of the first guests of the year was Hall of Fame coach Jim Calhoun. On this show, Dave chats with two producers from ESPN about "The Calhoun Project." Why they decided to follow Calhoun at St. Joseph's (Conn.) and what we didn't know was going on. We get a real inside look ... at the inside look at a first-year DIII program.

Plus, Dave has a few notes you should pay attention to in his notebook, we look at the early Coaching Carousel, and final thoughts on the season.

Hoopsville is presented by D3hoops.com and airs from the WBCA/NABC Studio.
