Description

The Butch Cassidies is an eclectic folk rock band out of Moab, known for its original songs, rich harmonies and upbeat vibes. The band members, Emily Cox, Trista Winder and Lisa Hathaway met on stage at the Blu Pig in December, 2022 and have been performing together ever since. Emily, the band’s primary songwriter, has been writing original songs, playing guitar and performing solo and in small bands across the country for the past twenty years. Emily recently recorded with acclaimed musician Joe Cravin and is awaiting the release of a 5 song EP. Guitarist/vocalist Lisa Hathaway is a Moab musician who has been performing as a solo artist and in multiple Moab-based bands for nearly thirty years. She plays a wide array of genres in her many bands—from stripped down folk to full-band disco/dance shows. Lisa loves balancing her sets with equal attention to instrumental and vocal delivery. Trista, on vocals, moved to Moab with her partner after buying the local bike shop, Bike Fiend. Growing up in Salt Lake heavily involved in music, she was performing and traveling with an elite acapella group at age 16 and continued to make music through learning mantra and chanting. Transitioning into band music with empowered women that inspire her is her way of reminding all women everywhere to “find their voice.”
