It’s all about noise on the latest This Week in Moab. In recent years, the noise associated ATVs/UTVs has created an upswell in community demand that local leaders do something – anything – to curb the auditory impacts drowning out neighborhoods and experiences in the backcountry. We speak with Grand County Commissioner Kevin Walker on two pathways for addressing noise impacts – amending and enforcing local noise ordinances and ensuring rental businesses are not contributing to the noise problem. Walker discusses why noise is so complicated historically, and what options the community has in the absence of state support for local control of ATVs/UTVs. Plus, a conversation with Jon Kovash and Josie Kovash, creators of ‘Dispatch from the Undisputed Motorhead Capitol of the West,’ a radio special.
