A first-person account of the early days of the Pack Creek Fire on the latest This Week in Moab. Host Christy Williams-Dunton speaks with Jason Kirks, fuels program manager with the Bureau of Land Management, who made the call to get more resources on the blaze. The duo talk wildfire management, as well as the importance of just putting those damn campfires out – completely. (Note: there are no campfires currently allowed on nearby public lands as of 6/25/21). Plus (30:00), local Dailey Haren joins the program to discuss the Looking Glass Rock controversy. Haren organized a petition to raise awareness of a proposed glamping expansion on state trust lands near the popular site.
