Original mix from Melbourne electronic musician @FiaFiell, aka Carolyn Schofield (also of Rolling Mass). Combining her practical and theoretical knowledge as a pianist and composer with a modern ear on millennial electronic music constructs, Schofield crafts beautiful and transcendent ambient soundscapes.
'Habitual Movement' is a mix of synth improvisation edits made over 2014 to 2016, spanning from ambient pieces to more noisy, drone-based recordings. The music Fia Fiell makes is strongly rooted in improvisation, although finished pieces may build on and develop improvised recordings. This mix thus represents Fiell's music in its more undeveloped state, using excerpts that usually wouldn’t be heard publicly and she has mostly forgotten ever existed.
