For the past 50 years Mike Cooper has been pushing musical boundaries, recognised for his part in developing the folk and free improvisation in UK while also outputting ambient, electronic and exotica releases. Often combining lap steel guitar, vocals and field recordings, Cooper's best known sound work has been released on labels such asRoom40, Sacred Summits and Discrepant.
Cooper, now in his seventies, is making even more adventurous music with evocative live performances. Cooper takes live guitar processing and sampling as his raw material, using it to build something complex and substantive, full of ideas and surprises, creating fully formed music born from decades of experimentation.
