An exclusive soundtrack from Melbourne’s Wu Cloud.
Wu Cloud is a recording artist using lo-fi electronics and samples to experiment with elements of ambient, dub, exotica and psychedelic sounds. Currently exploring themes of spiritual jazz, psychedelia and 4th world combinations of electronics, loose rhythms, effects and synth.
Recorded over two weeks, the piece takes the listener on a journey of exploration through zero gravity disco and hazed out piano lounge through a fogged porthole.
Wu Cloud describes the piece as:
“…a Friday night’s rec leave from the planet surface. Casey and Fever take a shuttle to the only thing resembling a club in the sector - The silver-glass sphere of The Lagoon zero gravity disco. Through the piano lounge waiting area in their silicon mesh finest to collect their mother-of-pearl collars and complimentary fructose aperitifs, their feet leave the ground and the girls ascend through the F-tube to the floating bar, band and laughter. Company cogs, traders, strays - a lagoon of slow dance."
An exploration of an elusive musical location where dub and spiritual jazz meet laid-back disco. Recorded over two weeks using synth, two drum machines, percussion, Wurlitzer piano and guitar; with Grant on clarinet and Wei on bongos.
