It's not the 60's nor the 70's ethio-jazz or ethio-groove you may be accustomed to, but a whole lot of 80's goodness from many lesser known performers where often electronics are starting to be heard in the productions.
Mostly rare tunes from Addis and various regions of the large country, all carefully lifted from tapes by @Mitmitta, one of the foremost Ethiopian music experts. 🇪🇹
@Mitmitta is an Amharic speaking Norwegian and one of the main record collectors that was based in Ethiopia until 2020 focusing on Ethiopian, Eritrean and Sudanese music. He started a music shop in Addis-Ababa in 2010 called Mitmitta Musika and with that an accompanying blog and mixcloud where he shared some of the best music from the region. www.mixcloud.com/mitmitta
