Legendary rock drummer Chris Slade started life in Pontypridd, where his career also started in 1963 playing drums for Tom Jones, something he did for around 7 years before becoming a founding member of Manfred Mann’s Earthband in the early 1970’s.

But he’s probably best known for his two stints as drummer with Aussie rock band AC/DC.

Now he tours as part of the ‘Chris Slade Timeline’ with a band of hand-picked musicians capable of playing both AC/DC favourites and other styles too.

And he’s returning ‘home’ this week to appear at the Redhouse Theatre in Merthyr Tydfil on Friday night 28th April.

In this interview, originally broadcast on GTFM in two parts, Chris tells Terry Mann about his amazing career to date and how much he’s looking forward to bringing his ‘Chris Slade Timeline’ band to Wales.
