1 Samuel 17.1-58.
Perhaps one of the best known stories of the scriptures, a story of a shepherd boy, born in Bethlehem, conquering a fierce opponent that seemed unstoppable. Where others looked and saw a scary opponent that could not be killed, David saw a defenceless man who was about to meet his fate. Can we think of another who would be born in Bethlehem, the good shepherd, an unlikely king? He would go on to defeat the true enemy that would seem unstoppable to all others.
