The People's School for Marxist-Leninist Studies presents selected articles from Volume 12, No. 5 of "The Communist," put out by the Communist Party USA in May 1933. This article by Andre Marty entitled "Marx and Working Class Unity" dives into the origins of the struggle for 'unity' among the ranks of the working class, particularly as it relates to the First International. Today, the slogan of 'unity' is often vulgarized and not understood in the way Marx intended it to be. We hope this reading serves to deepen your understanding of what unity means to the revolutionary movement of the working class.
