In my early twenties I used to carry around a handheld cassette recorder and tape noise jams and random goofs, hamming it up with other cheeky weirdos. The night these samples were recorded I also managed to break a piano. I got that on tape too.
The original version of this song is off of my album Red Pulpy Mess, recorded at Howl Street in 2010.
Guitar - Joe Peschio, Jacob Sutrick
Bass - Marc Luther Paul
words and music by Jonathan Burks
lyrics:
I found my soul in the cracks of the sofa
with an old pizza box and a soda pop bottle top
rocking out every day with this new-fangled method
pressing my face to the pain to taste this life lesson
the healthy move on through the land of the living
while dinosaurs in bliss skip through their doomed existences
paving natures way, the embodiment of evolving
the bitter-sweet ruthlessness of being human
need me a crush to smush this smoldering ember
a new flame to make pale all these stubborn remembrances
aint got the gumption to chase no women around
so I'll just write it down till all these feelings are gone
