Into this Morning . . .
What a difference it makes when we start each day by inviting the Lord Jesus to direct and lead us each moment of each day, and to ‘clothe’ ourselves with and in Him. (See Romans 13:14 NLT)
May this song, which I co-wrote with David Booth, serve as a clarion call to remind us to dedicate ourselves each new day to the Lord Jesus, and to come and explore it to the full with Him.
Into this morning I pray Your peace;
Jesus, this day I honour You;
for each day is special, like no other other day,
You meet me each day with fresh grace.
O Lord, all my times are in Your hands.
All of my days belong to You;
moment by moment, You’ve planned for me,
chosen, prepared and appointed.
So I come to explore Your love this day:
You are leading me on in Your Kingdom.
You are leading me on in Your Kingdom.
Be in my thoughts like a candle burning bright;
be in my soul like a drum beating time.
Be in my speech like a prophet weaving words;
be in my soul like an ever-flowing stream.
Be in my life like a strong wind of change,
Where You lead, I long to follow.
Jesus, I yield my heart to You,
Goodness and mercy will follow me.
So I come to explore Your love this day,
You are leading me on to Your Kingdom.
On through this ev’ning we pray Your peace,
On through this night we honour You.
For each day is special like no other day,
You’re leading me home in Your love.
