With many situations both personal and international in great need of prayer, I turned to the best-known cry of all for mercy Kyrie Eleison to be the basis of this sung prayer. May the refrain of the Kyrie and the sound of the music become a leitmotif in our hearts to draw out a cry for the Lord's mercy that He can respond to with regard to one concerning issue after another.
Many thanks to Harmony Greenwood, Megan Topper and Mike Halliday for singing the piece, and to Sue Brickwell and Natalie Halliday for accompanying them on the keybard and cello.
Lord, have mercy,
have mercy upon us.
Lord, we cry out for our land,
we cry out for our land,
our homes and families.
From every kind of crime, O Lord deliver us,
Have mercy upon us,
Jesus, most merciful Redeemer.
Jesus most merciful Redeemer.
In awesome works of power,
In Majesty ride forth,
Kyrie Eleison,
Kyrie Eleison,
Kyrie Eleison,
O Lord deliver us,
We call upon You now.
Streams of tears flow from our eyes
because Your ways are not known.
We call out to You,
King of all the nations.
Have mercy.
Jesus, most merciful Redeemer,
Most merciful Redeemer,
O let me walk with You,
Kyrie Eleison,
Kyrie Eleison,
Kyrie Eleison.
Ambulamus Tecum (we will walk with You)
Ambulamus Tecum
Kyrie Eleison, Kyrie Eleison,
Kyrie Eleison, Kyrie Eleison.
Cast your cares upon the Lord,
for He cares so much for you
Cast your cares upon the Lord
Kyrie Eleison, Kyrie Eleison,
Kyrie Eleison, Kyrie Eleison
How You love to walk with us,
We will run and not grow faint,
How You love to walk with us,
We will run and not grow faint.
