Known and loved by millions, the memorable words of the Anglican Collects inspired me to have a go at writing something that would incorporate many of the stirring words of the original Second and Third Collects for Peace. The emphasis in the opening line, however, is my own.
Linda Entwistle arranged the song beautifully, adding the piano and cello parts. When we came to record the piece, we invited three of the instrumentalists, who were not required to play in it, to join in singing it.
We love the way this picture opens out onto the wider view. We hope you will find the words and melody memorable enough to open out likewise into your everyday walk with the Lord, as we pray to be 'always pleasing in His sight'.
