O Sacred Head Sore Wounded
Based on a thirteenth century poem and a sixteenth century melody, Johann Sebastian Bach arranged this marvellously moving hymn that helps us to contemplate the ultimate sacrifice the Lord Jesus made for us as He gave His life to free us from the pains of sin and death . It is a particularly poignant piece to play when we are going through times of strain or loss. Sue Perks is the soloist.
