"'UNTD004'sees United’s discography continue to grow as Moscow’s Trizna releases his EP 'Raid', a fusion of sounds at 140bpm, creating what Trizna describes as 'Primal Grime'. The sounds employed by Trizna in this project could at once be described as both minimalist and industrial, creating a dark atmosphere with a somewhat sense of disjoint.
"The tracks, ‘Raid’, ‘One Step’, ‘Splinter’, ‘Upyr’ and ‘Edge’, all sound very much unique. Some taking on a more breaks-like feel due to their sample selection, without compromising their integrity as ‘Grime,’ music, and some, like ‘Edge,’ tending much more towards a Dubstep-based sound on account of the drum structure. Nevertheless, there is an undeniable sonic continuity between the tracks, and whilst Spacesurfer and Хандра (Handra) are other aliases under which Trizna produces music, the Trizna project gives an inescapable nod to Old-School Grime.
"The artwork for this EP is a medieval engraving of siege the Polotsk by Moscow Army. This engraving was made by unnamed Europeans who had never seen either the Polotsk or the Russians. This potentially makes for interesting symbolism as to how the Russian Grime contingent views its impact on the genre."
