In this episode, Clay speaks with John Edward Heath. John is a veteran of the United States Marines, an amputee, adaptive athlete, Paralympic hopeful, mental health advocate, and motivational speaker.
John takes listeners through some of the most difficult moments along his journey including his biological mother struggling with addiction as he moved in and out of foster care, sexual abuse, anger and resentment, drugs, gangs, public outing as a gay man, losing friends and loved ones to suicide, and the decision to amputate his leg. John and Clay also explore how adversity serves him today, the importance of influential voices, the power of belief, and gratefulness as John explains how he used all of his experiences to find his true purpose of helping and healing others.
