Haddock's Eyes 詩如下:
A man found an old man sitting at the gate
He asked him how did he support himself
Old man said he made butterfly pies and sold them to sailors
He also burned mountain tills to make Macassar oil
Finally old man said he hunted haddock's eyes under heather and sold cheaply
He also set limed twigs to catch crabs so he got money enough to drink to his visitor's health
The visitor himself designed a plan to boil creeks with wine to keep Menai bridge from rusting
Bidding fair well to the old man, narrator recalled since then whenever he put wrong foot to the shoe or he dropped weights onto the toe, he thought of this very poor old man living in the wild with white hair and blacked face, speaking softly and slowly
Old man was distracted with his own sorrows and rocking himself to and fro, mouth full of dough, snorting like a buffalo, sitting on a gate the summer evening long ago

White knight wished Alice to see him off
After Knight turned the corner, Alice started for the eighth square
Alice landed on the smooth grass on the square and found her head was decorated with a golden crown
