將 主動提前至 先行詞與關係代名 之間

(= This is the house I grew up in. 屬於更現代的美語句型：“關係代名詞是受格的時候, 略去不說“. 一旦略去不說時, 介系詞回到原來的位置, 也就是 出現了文法中的特例：介系詞的後面竟然找不到位置上的受詞, 因為已經從下省略.)

2.複合關係代名詞

g. However hard I try, I always fail.
*No matter how hard I try, I fail. (= However hard I try, I fail.)
此乃表退讓 Concession 句型, 意思是 Although I try hard, I fail.
*Whoever show up is going to win. (= Anyone who show up is going to win.)
複合關代是一個第三人稱單數
*Whosever 為 whose 之複合型; whosoever 是 whoever 的古字
*成為從屬連接詞, 不再跟著先行詞, 但是還有關係代名詞的屬性, 後面是動詞, 攜帶名詞子句, 通常沒有逗號, 直接接主要子句
Whoever comes wins the race.
*成為 topic noun, 後面常常加關係子句, 後面加逗號, 接主要子句
Whatever connection she has, ignore it.
Whomever it belongs to, delete it.
Whomever the ballot goes to, the political ambiance is not going to change.
*成為從屬連接詞, 不再跟著先行詞, 攜帶時間/地方副詞子句, 回到主要子句
